NOW is the Time to Start Planning for Snow!

Think July is too early to start planning for snow? If you are in charge of hiring snow removal for your company, think again…

When we think about the timeline for snow planning and what it takes to get ready, we think of the following:

  1. If you want your snow removal plan set-up and dedicated equipment ready to go for the first snowfall, that means you need to sign the contract by mid-October.

  2. If the contract needs to be signed by mid October, that means we need to give the contract a month to go through your administrative process. That puts us in mid-September.

  3. Before the contract can even go through the administrative process, at least 3 bids need to be acquired and reviewed…that takes up to a month (or longer). Hello, mid-August!

  4. Before we can prepare a bid, we need to meet with you, assess your needs, and walk the site. From the initial meeting to the time the bid is in your hands takes around 1-2 weeks. Keeping up…we are now at the beginning of August.

  5. To schedule a meeting that works for both parties we need to look 1-2 weeks out….here we are today.
